Locking wheel nut removal: lost the key?
A locking wheel nut with no key stops a tyre change dead. We remove it at your home, work or roadside without leaving you stuck.

What we do
Tell us the make and model
Locking nuts differ from car to car. This helps us bring the right tools.
We remove the nut
We use specialist removal tools, with care taken over your wheel.
You are on your way
Where a tyre needs changing, we carry on and fit it on the same visit.
Worth knowing
Look first in the glovebox, the boot and the toolkit, where the key is often kept. Some cars store a spare key or a code card with the handbook.
Once the nut is off, you will need a new locking set if you want one. Ask us when you call.
Make sure it never happens again
- Keep the key in the same place every time, for example the glovebox, and tell anyone who drives the car where it is.
- Take a photo of the key and any code card that came with the car. Some makes can supply a replacement key if you have the code or proof of ownership.
- Check the handbook, which often says where a spare key or code is kept.
Locking wheel nut questions
Will you damage my wheel?
We use specialist removal tools and take care over the wheel. The locking nut itself is usually replaced once it has been removed.
Can you remove it and fit a new tyre on the same visit?
Yes. Where a tyre needs changing, we carry on and fit it on the same visit. See tyre change.
Can I drive with the locking nut missing?
A wheel missing a nut is not safe. Stop driving and call us; see wheel nut and stud replacement.
Do I need to know the make and model?
It helps. Locking nuts differ from car to car, so tell us when you call and we will bring the right tools.
