Puncture repair, on the spot where the tyre allows

A nail or screw in the tread does not always mean a new tyre. We inspect it where the car is parked and repair it if it can be done safely, or fit a replacement if it cannot.

Can it be repaired?

A puncture in the main tread of the tyre can often be repaired. Damage to the sidewall or the shoulder of the tyre cannot be repaired safely, and neither can a tyre that has been driven on while flat. In those cases the tyre has to be replaced, and we will explain why.

Repairable
A nail or screw in the central tread, with the tyre otherwise in good condition.
Not repairable
A cut or bulge in the sidewall, damage near the edge of the tread, or a tyre badly damaged by driving on it flat.

We check the inside of the tyre as well as the outside, because that is where the real damage shows.

If you get a puncture

  • Stop somewhere safe as soon as you can. Do not keep driving on a flat tyre.
  • Call us with your location and, if you can read it, your tyre size.
  • If we cannot repair it, we can usually fit a new tyre from stock on the same visit.
